Credentials You Can Earn

NGTC's Automotive Technology, Auto Collision Repair, and Marine Engine Technology programs utilize a combination of theory and applied learning to qualify graduates for employment.  Automotive Technology students use quality tools and high tech equipment to troubleshoot every system in today’s high tech vehicles. Auto Collision Repair students develop the frame, body, glass, and painting skills necessary to make severely damaged cars look new again. Marine Engine Technology students gain experience with inboard and outboard motors of all sizes. Graduates from all three programs find jobs with dealerships, auto repair centers, and marinas.

Degree

Applied Technical Management Degree

Students who earn the Automotive Technology Diploma are eligible to apply for the Applied Technical Management Degree program. The AAS in Applied Technical Management allows a student to complete a diploma in a TCSG program area and to continue to this AAS. In addition to the skills and knowledge obtained in the diploma, the student will obtain degree-level general education knowledge and business-related skills and knowledge. Graduates of the program receive a Applied Technical Management Associate of Applied Science Degree.


Diplomas

Auto Collision Repair Diploma

The Automotive Collision Repair Assistant I certificate program prepares students for employment as assistants to lead and master technicians in an automotive collision repair shop. Topics covered include work safety, hand and power tools, basic component replacement, automotive welding techniques, and mechanical and electrical systems. Program graduates receive an Auto Collision Repair Diploma.

Marine Engine Technology Diploma

The Marine Engine Technology program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in Marine Engine Technology and related fields. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of Marine Engine Technology theory and practical application necessary for successful employment in the field. Program graduates receive a Marine Engine Technology diploma which qualifies them as entry-level marine engine technicians.

Automotive Technology Diploma

The Automotive Technology diploma program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in the automotive service and repair profession. Learning opportunities enable students to develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of automotive mechanics theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Automotive Technology diploma that qualifies them as automotive technicians.
